What is the 5C Quick Change Collet System?

Our Patent Pending System is a Master Collet of sorts. A self-contained unit designed to accept common 5C collets and soon 16C and 3J.

Key Features:

  • There is nothing to assemble
  • Nothing to remove
  • Nothing to install
  • No chuck modifications needed
  • Install in seconds like any other quick-change collet.
  • Works on pull back and push to close (dead-length) chucks
  • Use 5C workstops
  • Bar feeding and bar pulling compatible
  • Start running material smaller than the minimum 3/16"
  • Improve your readiness for small runs or odd jobs that do not justify buying a specific QC Collet.
  • Second operation and sub-spindle use (**verify you have the internal clearance, contact for support for details)
  • Utilize the immense array of 5C collet sizes, emergency collets, step collets, manually operated I.D expansion collets, and nylon collets available industry wide. Shoot, get weird and throw a manual 3 or 4 jaw cuck on there with a 5C shank (carefully!).
  • Quick ROI when compared to expanding your collection of sizes of standard quick-change collets...... if you have already collected a few then you already know this!
  • Made in Oklahoma, USA, 95% of the time it's every time.

Tolerance expectations: .001-.003" TIR should be expected if your chuck is running .0005" or better and good using quality collets.

Key factors to consider:

Stacking of all tolerances is a real thing and must be factored in for your needs. Chuck runout, quick change collet runout, and finally the 5C collet themselves. Know your needs, application and expectations. This tool will be a game changer for many if not most jobs but if you are looking for only microns of runout this isn't it.

Sub-Spindle Usage: In the relaxed state the collet will drop slightly off center. Keep this in mind when transferring parts from the main spindle. This may be a problem for some applications and for others not a big deal. Collets can be prepped with a lead-in chamfer, radius and/or collets can be pre-sprung out manually to allow a wider opening.

Royal 80 Chuck Users: We use a 3-split collet for your chuck. This means if you only have an installation tool for a 6 segment 80 collet, you will need to acquire another tool for this system. We recommend the Hardinge Tool through MSC for the best price we've found if you have an account. Link: MSC# 87349247 (MFR# H080000000WREN)

Quality:

Our vulcanized collets are manufactured, hardened and machined to industry precision standards by top collets manufacturers. The vulcanized rubber is warranted and backed by the manufacturer, so we have your back.

Use Case:

Imagine this scenario: You have a hot job to run on your CNC lathe, and the material size doesn't match your existing collets. Typically, you would have to order a costly specialty collet and wait for days. But with our Quick Change System, you can simply switch to widely available 5C collets—most shops already have them, or you can purchase a full set for the price of one standard collet

Returns:

  • Accepted within 15 days of purchase for unopened packages- Full refund minus shipping.
  • Within 30 days of purchase, we will accept opened, unused product, if it was installed but not used, like new condition, there will be a 30% restocking fee.
  • No returns after 30 days
  • If it's been used, it's yours, no returns period.

Now don't get us wrong, if there is a manufacturing issue or problem on us, we are on it like white on rice.
